Day 8 at sea and Disco is running elegantly along the Brazilian coast moving slowly towards the South American Elbow. The wind is still light but we have the No 1 Genoa and a full main up and are beating to windward. The crew have settled in to the ships routine and are getting used to having only 3 hours sleep at any one time. The engine repair completed in Salvador is holding well and we have been able to sail without the engine on for some of the time. The crew are going through the yacht cleaning and doing the husbandry required to keep us sailing. Still a few miles and days at sea to go!!!!!!
FROM THE CREW QUARTERS:
Today was one of the most exciting days so far, a school of dolphins gathered around the bow of the yacht. Although we haven’t had a lot of wind, it has given us the opportunity to relax, and enjoy wildlife. White watch decided to take a leaf from Jonti’s book and have a sea shower, as we all stunk!. We will soon be at the equator and will all be taking part in the crossing the line ceremony, I don’t know whether I should be excited or scared.
