Signaller Andrew Nind

Signaller Andrew Nind aged 18, comes from Abergavenny in South Wales. He attended King Henry VIII school and was a member of 2478 Abergavenny Squadron of the Air Training Corps where he reached the rank of Cadet Sergeant. Andrew decided to join the Army immediately on completion of his education. He started his initial military training at Army Training Regiment Lichfield (ATRL) before moving on to the Royal School of Signals to complete his trade training as a Communications Systems Operator. On completion of the expedition Andrew will attend specialist training as an Electronic Warfare Systems Operator at DISC Chicksands. He then hopes to be posted to JSSU Cyprus.

Andrew enjoys playing squash and has a keen interest in gliding, intending to achieve his gliding instructor qualification as soon as possible. He also plays an active part training cadets in his old Air Training Corps Squadron.

Andrew thoroughly enjoyed both his Phase 1 and Phase 2 training and is looking forward to further expanding on what he has learnt so far in his career.
