Sir Wally Herbert was a polar explorer of unequalled stature who embodied the spirit of adventure and respect for The Antarctic that we seek to emulate. His support, advice and encouragement for previous BAAE expeditions was inspirationally to us all.
Sadly he died earlier this year but he will forever be associated with The Reclus Peninsula and our return this year will be particularly poignant but we hope a suitable and fitting tribute to a remarkable explorer and an inspirational friend of BAAE.
